Lars Norden is Associate Professor of Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and Academic Director of the Master of Science in Finance & Investments Programme. He is also Director of the Risk Management Programme at the Duisenberg school of Finance and Duisenberg Research Fellow. Before joining RSM in fall 2009, he was Assistant Professor at the University of Mannheim from 2004 to 2009. He was visiting Indiana University (2007-2008) and the research centre of the Deutsche Bundesbank (2002-2004). His research interests include financial intermediation, empirical banking, credit derivatives, credit ratings, and empirical finance. He presented at major conferences (e.g., AEA, AFA, WFA, EFA, and FIRS) and his work has been published in journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Small Business Economics. He holds a doctoral degree in business administration from the University of Mannheim (2004) and graduate degrees from the University of Mannheim (2000) and ESSEC Business School (2000).
